We believe in the importance of saving energy to improve the environment while realizing the competitive advantages it brings by decreasing operating costs.
Through an action plan that outlines specific reduction targets, we have reduced electricity consumption at Woodbine and Mohawk facilities by participating in the “Ontario Power Authority Demand 3 Program”, reduced summer energy consumption by more than 10% through a building automation control system, and have installed motion sensors to turn off lights when office and meeting rooms are not in use. We track our energy efficiency progress, regularly communicate results, and encourage employees to look at new ways to reduce electricity and natural gas consumption to help shrink our environmental footprint.
