Woodbine Entertainment Group is one of only two not-for-profit corporations that are members of Imagine Canada, a national program that promotes public and corporate giving, volunteerism and support to the community. The benchmark of membership and the recognition of being "a caring company" is donating 1% of pre-tax profits to charities. We exceed this requirement and donate in excess of 3% of net revenues annually to charities.
We are also proud of the generous donation of time and talent our employees give-back to our community and to charitable causes every year. To support employee charity drives and volunteerism, we provide a 1:1 dollar match for every dollar donated by employees to a WEG corporate charity drive. We also encourage employee participation in the selection of seasonal charity drives.
We welcome the opportunity to assist numerous charitable organizations and community programs through financial donations, sponsorships and in-kind contributions. Like many companies, we receive more requests than we can support through our Corporate Community Investment Program.
Our involvement, investment and commitment to giving-back has remained steadfast – in difficult economic times as well as in prosperous times – and is focused on four key areas:
Building Stronger Communities
We ware proud to partner with charitable organizations within the local community that are working towards building a strong community foundation to positively impact the quality of life of its residents.
Helping Children and Youth
The development of tomorrow’s leaders starts today and we remain committed to support local initiatives that provide youth leadership programs, job training, and promote and protect the health and safety of children.
Supporting Health Care
As the number one issue for our society, we have joined with many health-related organization to support medical research, improved services and patient care.
Caring for our Athletes
We support organizations that promote the integrity of horse racing and protect the health and welfare of our equine and human participants.
