How Do I Apply To Participate In This Program?


Financial Donation or Sponsorship

If you are a registered charity seeking a financial donation or sponsorship, WEG must receive a proposal at the beginning of October for consideration for the following year’s budget.

Your proposal must set out the following:

  1. The official name of the organization and charitable registration number.
  2. The organization’s mission/purpose statement.
  3. A brief summary of the programs and services the organization provides.
  4. Audited financial statement including percentage of revenues spent on administration.
  5. A detailed description of the event or activity for which the organization is seeking funding support, the number of people expected to attend or who will benefit from the event and an explanation of how the activity directly benefits the community, including how the activity will be evaluated.
  6. The start and completion dates.
  7. Brief budget overview which itemizes the estimated costs of the event or activity, including other sources of funding, such as government grants received, and which clearly states how excess funds (after event costs are paid) will be used.
  8. The amount of cash sponsorship or donation being sought.
  9. Details about the type of recognition that WEG will receive, such as signage, logo placement in brochures/websites before and after the event, tickets, corporate table or speaking opportunities.


In-Kind Donation

If you are a registered charity seeking an “in-kind donation”, we will require a letter three (3) weeks in advance of the event setting out the following:

  1. The official name of the organization and charitable registration number.
  2. organization’s mission/purpose statement, accomplishments and goals.
  3. Only one request per calendar year may be made for each charity.
  4. How many people are expected to attend the event and who will benefit from the activity.
  5. How WEG’s “in-kind donation” will be acknowledged.
  6. After the event, notification of how much money the “in-kind donation” raised.
