Woodbine Entertainment Group ensures compliance with all laws and regulations of its regulatory agencies and in all jurisdictions in which it operates. The Corporation’s relations and activities are conducted within the intended and relevant legal framework and it applies its own by-laws, policies and procedures in a fair and impartial manner.

Our regulatory partners include the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency, Ontario Racing Commission, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission.

The Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency (CPMA) is a Special Operating Agency within Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada that regulates and supervises pari-mutuel betting on horse racing at racetracks across Canada, thereby ensuring that pari-mutuel betting is conducted in a way that is fair to the public.

The Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) licenses WEG to operate horse racing, approves race dates, and licenses for all racing participants including owners and trainers. The ORC is an agency of the Ministry of Finance of the Province of Ontario.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulates the sale, service, and consumption of beverage alcohol to promote moderation and responsible use, and to ensure that casino gaming, charitable gaming and lotteries are conducted in the public interest, by people with integrity, and in a manner that is socially and financially responsible.

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) reporting to the Minister of Canadian Heritage, is an independent public organization that regulates and supervises the Canadian broadcasting and telecommunications systems.  The CRTC issues, renews and amends broadcasting licenses.
