Imagine is Canada’s national program to promote public and corporate giving, volunteering and support for the community. Imagine sets a benchmark for corporate giving of 1% of pre-tax profits to qualify for membership. As a non-share capital corporation, we are committed to investing in our industry and through it, the agricultural economy, our customers, our employees, and the communities in which we operate. WEG welcomes the opportunity to assist charitable organizations and community programs through donations, sponsorships and in-kind contributions. Like many corporations, we receive many more requests than we can fund. WEG has an established “Corporate Community Investment Program” which focuses on four areas. Health Care (facilities and research) is the number one issue for our society. Woodbine Entertainment Group has joined with a number of different health-related organizations to assist with research and to support a stronger health care network to facilitate improved services. Children – WEG supports programs that build the values upon which our society is built to develop our youth into healthy contributing citizens for the future well-being of our communities. Communities – WEG has partnered with many charitable organizations that positively impact community life. Industry – WEG supports organizations that help the interests of the horse racing sector, including both its equine and human participants.
