Community Investment Program (CIP) 

Our Community Investment Program (CIP) is our primary initiative for giving back to the communities in which we operate.  There are five key areas of focus for WEG's investment and involvement, in which we are best positioned to make the most measureable, meaningful and sustainable impact.


These
include:

  • Building Healthy & Vibrant Communities
  • Educating & Empowering Children & Youth
  • Protecting the Welfare of Race Horses
  • Preserving, Promoting & Celebrating Diverse Cultures & Heritages
  • Responsible Gambling


Please note:  Applications for funding are no longer being accepted for 2017 as all funds have been allocated.  If you are a registered charity seeking a financial donation or sponsorship for 2018, please submit your proposal to Woodbine Entertainment Group by March 1, 2018.

The criteria that Woodbine Entertainment Group considers when evaluating a donation request are listed below.
 
Qualifications for Charitable Organizations
To be eligible and considered for a charitable contribution, charitable organizations must meet the following criteria:
  • Recipients must be recognized as a charitable organization registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
  • Be located in the communities that we serve (where we have assets, employees or do business)
  • Be applying for programs and services that fall within our defined focus areas
  • Have strong fiscal management and governance practices
  • Registered charity should be an Imagine Canada member

Restrictions for Applicant Organizations:
  • Individuals
  • Athletics, including individual sports and all-star teams
  • Delivering their programs outside of Ontario, Canada
  • Organizations that discriminate by race, creed, gender, age or national origin
  • Advertising
  • Underwriting of films, video and television productions
  • Sectarian/religious activities, including churches, synagogues and other places of worship
  • Conferences, trips or tours
  • Fraternal, veteran or labour groups serving only their members
  • Membership fees or association fees, either personal or corporate
  • Family Foundations
